Real Life Doesn't Stay in Separate Boxes

Real life does not organize itself the way a website menu does.

Money is not just money when somebody is worried about providing for their family. Mental health is not just mental health when a person is carrying stress they have not said out loud. Faith is not a separate category when it is part of how somebody makes sense of a hard season.

All of it overlaps.

That is why the podcast exists.

Faith, Money & Mental Health started because those conversations were already happening off the air. Not in a polished, perfect way. Just real conversations between people trying to make sense of the things that matter.

That is the kind of conversation I want more of.

Not the kind where somebody has to pretend they have it all together. Not the kind where a hard topic gets skipped because it is uncomfortable. And definitely not the kind where people are made to feel like a number, a lead, or a problem.

Being practical and being human are not opposites.

You can talk about a budget and still ask how somebody is doing. You can explain a process and still remember there is a person on the other side of it. You can care about responsibility without acting like struggle is a character flaw.

I think we need more room for that.

I am a Navy veteran, a girl dad, an author, and a guy who likes building things that might help somebody. Those are not separate versions of me. They are the reason I care about the work in the first place.

So this site is going to make room for all of it: useful information, honest conversations, family stories, the dogs, the books, and the projects that are still taking shape.

Because that is real life. A little messy. A lot connected. Worth talking about honestly.

Plain talk on how the VA process works, new books and podcast episodes, and the things people carry quietly. Maybe once a month. Probably less. Never a pitch.
